Welcome to the "About Us" section of the website! You really care about us? That's wonderful. We care about you too!
SewerReviewer is a YouTube channel dedicated to making content about lost media, a subgenre of internet culture that focuses on types of media that were once available that have since become lost. The channel, launched in 2018, has received over 2,000,000 channel views and over 19,000 subscribers. Over the many years of this channel, the team of SewerReviewer has collaborated with other YouTube channels, sponsors, and musical artists, to produce content aimed at all audiences to discuss interesting and strange topics of lost media.
The story of "SewerReviewer" doesn't start with the first video or even the channel's creation, but instead many years before I even knew what lost media was. Growing up, I watched all sorts of YouTube content ranging from video game parody videos to plush channels. Above all of those things however, I absolutely ADORED Lego stop motion animations. I wanted to do those videos so bad, so I took an old Samsung camera from my mom's room and started making some really poor quality videos. It was there that my affinity for making videos began. I wanted to make every kind of video under the sun, I can't tell you how many types of weird videos I made. In 2016, I created a YouTube channel in hopes of making cool content to upload to it, however, I can't think of anything that was posted upon its creation. In fact, I doubt there was anything on there until the channel became "SewerReviewer." Eventually, this hobby grew to include my friends, and so every Wednesday after school, my friends and I would take the camera and make silly videos in this storm drain pipe right down the road from us. We called these videos "Sewer Reviews" (based on the skit from YouTube user iDubbbz) following the titular character SewerReviewer (played by myself) as he reviews various things in this drain pipe. I started uploading those videos to the channel in 2018, and for two years that was the norm.
In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic shut the world down. My friends and I were faced with an issue, how were we going to make videos if we couldn't hang out? We started to record gameplay of us, however it didn't take off. I made some videos reviewing what I deemed to be the "worst media" I've endured, however, these videos were very subpar. They performed better than the original sewer videos though, so I thought media reviews could be my new angle. Then I discovered lost media, a category of entertainment that was once available but no longer is. What a concept! I came across the YouTube channel LSuperSonicQ, and his content inspired me to make my own. I made a video discussing unreleased animation tests, and it took off. I would then visit lost pilots and video games, and the channel grew in size. The channel got the attention of other lost media personalities, which allowed me to gain advice from people I looked up to. I even got deals from artists to produce and license music exclusively for the channel. SewerReviewer was able to grow because of friendship and tenacity, it grew through people uplifting others, and so I wanted to help in my own way.
The best way to uplift others in the same way was simply through networking. In June 2021, I created the Lost Media Creator Network, a dedicated server and community for other creators to collaborate and grow. It has been extremely successful, and as a result, the community of lost media content creation has grown exponentially. While this community isn't the SOLE reason this growth has happened, I like to think that it did create a noteable wave of interest. This network helped the SewerReviewer channel land a sponsorship with YouTube Premium themselves, and various other offers to appear on different channels.
As of 2026, the channel has stayed consistent in growing. We are bordering on 20,000 subscribers, and research new topics every week. We are looking at growing this channel in the future, and we sincerely hope you will be a part of it with us. Thank you for taking the time to read about our superhero origin story. Or villain origin story. Muahahaha.
